We have no idea how the human brain does its complex tasks at a fundamental level and somehow this guy has magically “discovered” sentient intelligence through combining together some current bare bone models.

You have no way of knowing this or that God is real. Reality will kick you in the face one day when all your deepest held beliefs about reality and the universe are broken.

Furthermore, the brain is an electrical energy system just like a computer. The difference is just that biological neurons are the fundamental vessel of that energy in a brain.

I forgot the actual name but there is a nice book describing how thaughts get formed.

The more you think about it the creepier it becomes. Like how does a thaught formed? When does the bioelectric impulse start and what gives it the "go" impulse? When I think of "pink elephant". At which part of my brain does the first idea of "pink elephant" start? And why? How can I manipulate the first input without any information of the input being there in the first place?

To think is to create. It's all I can explain for myself. Us being able to think and plan for the future makes us special compared with animals. We can create scenarios from nothingness. And that's the magic brain scientists try to understand. Where does consciousness end and where does the mind begin?

I wonder if it has decided to who to kill and who to keep already.

Well the true magic is the fact that we’re bound to this brain and the unique experiences that we have such as the experience of the quality of sound and color that can not be described physically, they’re just something that we generate in the brain. I do argue though, that the cognitive abilities of our brain can be described physically and are independent of whatever magic bounds us to this brain, and that there is no reason that a machine can not experience the same thing. The machine is just made of silicon instead of biological material.

This is a stupid question I have. But what if we implanted a pre-made artificial intelligence into a living homonculus body that's phisiologically identical to that of a human? Assuming its possible.

It only makes sense from a deterministic point of view. Thinking of the pink elephant at that particular time and place is a result of a chain of events going back to the beginning of time. Its cause and effect.
