I really want to put my faith in God and become Christian, but when reading the Old Testament I feel like the whole thing was written by savages for savages. The NT seems so nice and comforting to me, but many things in the OT disgust me. I don't want to live an atheistic life, I want to accept God, but I struggle with accepting the whole Bible.

The God of the old Testament is the same god in the new Testament. The Bible is continual and those distinctions between old and new are very minute. Yashua just came to renew the laws of the "OT".
