1. It's because a lot of people fled the cities due to covid/protests. People who live out inna woods have to drive into town to get supplies. They want to make that lifestyle very expensive. They want you living in the city, and they know you can't afford the apartment either so they want you living in government housing with the niggers.

2. They don't like the idea of people being able to hop into a car and drive to wherever they want. Electric vehicles can only go 120 miles in perfect conditions before they need hours worth of recharging. Mobile people are harder to control.

3. They know right wingers drive trucks.

4. Combustion engine vehicles are easy enough for the lay person to fix with relatively inexpensive tools. Electric vehicles will require a subscription service for regular maintenance.
