I tried to get into "paganism," but there was just nothing there. Of the books I read about it, Benoist's was the best. Unfortunately, if you really consider what he says the only conclusion is that it's atheism. Cleary's book was better in that it was actually positing a theistic position, but his position was logically untenable. So, if there is someone here claiming to be a "pagan": what do you even believe and why do you believe it? What's the coherent logical argument for your religion?

My issue with that is that it goes hand-in-hand with "this is all an illusion." If we're going that route, why not just solipsism? I think if you were to logically analyze emanationism, it would in fact reduce to solipsism because, again, Platonic objects are casually effete. The only way they could assist appear to influence the physical world would be if the physical world did not exist. If I'm going to disbelieve my senses to that degree I would have to not trust my logical reasoning either.

The Gods are neither the natural laws of the world nor psychological archetypes, they are the unmoved mover, the first uncaused cause of the universe. The Gods are immaterial, eternal, uncreated and beyond Being itself, they operate on both a transcendent and immanent level by enforcing the natural laws through effusion of Being and divine providence. The Gods do not descend from their uncreated simplicity because they are self-sufficient, their emanations are responsible for keeping the cosmos in a stately order.
