Trump and MAGA is a reaction to many problems that have plagued the system for a while—the last recession, Wall St. & D.C. corruption, benching Christian values, and many other barely related issues.
MAGA has a lot in common with the Sanders movement. If you research what people are asking for, its practically the same. The fringe or more hardcore elements of each movement are the only non-compatibles. This is also why both campaigns openly targeted each others voters.
Back to your question about 9/11, most likely not.
If you recall, the movement before was by Ron Paul, which address most of the same key issues, largely focuses on economic turmoil. However, much of the campaign was centered on national debt, which was largely due to the foreign occupations and war funding.
Ron Paul was a candidate offering a solution to this problem. Bernie was a candidate offering a solution to this problem. So was Trump. Our media focuses on the individuals because they are complicate in the problem. A problem that was not address, and only has gotten worse. There will be another political movement and figure. Things will only get worse, until they remedy the bleeding.

Building 7. I specifically remember seeing a video in the early 2000s, where I believe it was recorded by firefighters. It's viewing building 7. A firefighter comes running and says something like "They're pulling the building".
