A long time ago I bought into peak oil. I was so concerned and frightened over it I took it upon myself to research any plausible way to replace petroleum. Thorium Reactors, Stan Meyer's water powered car, every video on free energy, Nikola Tesla science and patents(and a shit ton of underlying mathematics going all the way back to Coulomb). I did this for about 9 years. I've got a 10 inch stack of hand written notes.
The bottom line here is that despite what peak oil proponents claim, it's just as fake as flat earth. There is plenty of oil. The problem is that oil companies themselves propagate this myth in order to scare prices up. It really is that simple.
Should people continue to look for other means to produce electricity? Absolutely. Should people indulge in fear porn? No. It's not healthy.
Do your own research was more than just a meme.

If you can tell that peak oil is a sham, you should be able to tell that the earth is not round.
