Boomers were set up with careers through their family connections, and their society handing them opportunities and leading them down paths. And yet they enforce this "sink or swim" fantasy on the younger generations.
That isn't how anyone actually gets into a career. They are set up with those careers by the society. Either through family connections, or through clear instructions handed down by their societal elders. It's not some Ayn-Rand fantasy where people figure it all out on their own. That's not how ANY group is doing it. Indians are getting set up into careers by the society. So are Asians. So are....even....hispanics. Perhaps the reason that whites are struggling is because these strong social institutions are no longer leading them and telling them what to do.
