Nielsen ratings are taken from a relatively small sample and then extrapolated as a percentage of the national population. They are woefully inaccurate in present day.
Things have to get really fucking bad for popular support of revolution. Read about the events prior to 1776. And you need a strong propaganda outlet to direct popular opinion.
