Comfy thread. I'm from Melbourne, and much of the beautiful Vicotian heritage that established our proud colony of Melbourne has been forgotten/demolished in the 1970s for crude impersonations of the skyscrapers that plague America. One of the main reasons I want to move away from Australia is because 80% of the architecture here is modern and fucking soul crushing abstract architecture and blocks and cubes.
Here's a picture of the Federal Coffee Place on collins street, demolished in the 70s and replaced with a dull brown sky scraper, considered by many Melbournians to be a devastating loss to the city. At least we still have the photos
