That's not how it worked. Since antiquity, if you lived to 10, you lived to 60, outside of rare things like wars. Even plagues that had 1/3 kill rates weren't killing adults; they were killing children and elderly. There are very few natural causes for death for an adult human outside of childbirth. The reason life expectancy was low back then was because of extremely high levels of child mortality and death in childbirth.
