i went to work in a nursing home. there i learned that you can live a long and pointless life, and be miserable, or be happy. its also possible to do everything right and die young, or for random parts of your body or brain to stop working. almost nobody has family that visits regularly.

anyways, long and short of it is, some folks are 30 and might as well be dead, while others are in their 90s and happy to wake up every day.

in other words, its more about quality of life than a longevity contest.

Thanks to denial, I'm immortal.

I'm not afraid of death. I am glad of its certainty.

I do not fear death. My soul is saved and my heart is ready for heaven. I want to fall into the arms of Christ and walk into the glory of his afterlife more than anything.
My only fear is that I will die before doing my part to make the demons pay for their sins.

I thought about death my whole memorable life, but until i got to other end of the midlife crisis I did not deal with mortality. I thought I did. I did not.

Also, I learned that fear of death is not really fear of death but fear of a life unlived. Your fear of death goes away when you are satisfied in life. There's been small moments in life where I felt so much bliss I could say and have said out loud "I could die right now and I'd be just fine with that", because in that moment, I truly felt I had everything.
