Unironically this. Suburbia like in OPpic is the worst mode of living in general. If you pack these homes into 5-story blocks, you lose none of the advantages (because there are NONE in the first place), but make it a LITTLE bit better by making that shit more compact and closer together, freeing up space for common areas and infrastructure.
Now, a well-planned commieblock neighborhood is among the best places to live in general. There are few of those, but the ones that exist are better than places like NYC's 1337 blocks surrounding Central Park where each apartment costs like a fucking combat helicopter.
