Mental illness. Notice they make up 1 million conspiracy theories a year but none of them are ever proven true. The lack of a track record doesn't bother them. They never consider for a moment that their beliefs could be wrong, which normally is an indicator of zealotry or a disorder.
As for actual conspiracies like operation northwoods, it wasn't schizos that uncovered it. it was a public release. covid was created in a lab, but that wasn't also discovered by schizos, but by virologists.
there's more obvious things like "the government spies on the citizens" which is historically obvious to everyone, even without snowden's release. only the scale was revealed.
