Starshe Eddy (@VysokyGovorit) reports that the Russian 20th Army has crossed over into the territory of DNR from the west, from the Kharkov region (he also shared news of additional POWs and yet-uncounted number of Ukrainian KIA as a result of today's forward movement).
This means that the offensive is continuing to develop along the Izyum-Slavyansk highway, toward Krasnopolye. In between Krasnopolye and Bogorodnichnoye lies a large forest, colloquially referred to as the Sherwood forest.
This barrier has been a stumbling block for the Russian 35th Army for the past week or so, with approximately 30% of the area under Russian control, but the terrain remaining exceedingly difficult, with widespread conventional mining and tripwire mining and ambush positions of the Ukrainian troops. A possible solution to the quagmire would be simply to burn out the forest with artillery and air strikes.
