My parents bought their house in the 80s for ~$20k and sold it several years ago for $600k. The new house they got they bought for ~$550k is worth over $1mil now.
At this point I have zero hope of ever owning a home.
I see families converting their houses into iceberg homes and then their entire family lives in them rather than moving out. It's kind of funny how homes are just slowly evolving into these mini mansions just out of necessity since it is slightly cheaper than buying new homes.

Most houses will likely not be inherited by their kids and they will likely be sold by the banks to urban developers. My parents bought a second home in 2010 when the market crashed. It was 200k and now they have rental companies offering 700k for it. Their main house was 800k only 3 years ago and now it's estimated to be worth 1.6 million. Literal trailers near where I live are going for 300k. Something is seriously wrong with the housing market
