Metric is so unnatural. Whoever came up with it should have just made a fully consistent sexagesimal or duodecimal system of weights and measures. It could have been highly compatible with traditional measures and easy to understand. Everyone is already capable of reading sexagesimal.

It's easier to criticize fahrenheit because it came about as recently as 1724. The general principle of sexagesimal and duodecimal weights and measures goes back to the earliest recorded civilizations. Metric answered a need for standardization while ignoring any reasonable properties of old systems. One of the areas it was too incompatible with nature for people to accept was metric time.
