Not fake, but probably an attempt at a distraction. Interestingly enough, it failed at being much of a distraction because everything is fucked enough on this planet as it is. Or maybe they used how fucked up everything is as the distraction from the Unidentified Arial Phenomena caught on camera.

Considering the eyewitness testimony from the multiple f-18 pilots who were there to witness it, I don't believe it was faked. In at least one case, the pilot witnessed it with his own eyes at a relatively close distance, and engaged / interacted with it. It appears to be some kind of technology and not a weather phenomenon, and therefore can only be one of three things: US military tech, Chinese/Russian tech, or alien tech. Regardless of which it is, the US military has nothing to gain by telling us what they know, so naturally they are resisting all inquiry into the subject as much as they can.

three FLIR videos were released. two of them were only picked up by sensors, so these can hypothetically be some kind of sensor anomaly. However, the nimitz encounter UAP was confirmed visually by the f-18 pilots at close range. To my understanding none of the three have been conclusively debunked.
