I honestly do not understand how people get addicted to drugs. I am prescribed a large dose of Ritalin and I have to set a reminder on my phone to take my meds twice a day, and even then I just ignore it if I am not doing anything productive. I also tried to get addicted to tobacco by smoking during university and that didn't work despite me forcing myself to smoke 2 cigarettes a day.

You will never get sober trading one drug for another. What you did is kind of like trading heroin for methadone. You got to go cold turkey user. It is hell but you will live. In about 3-6 months you will start to sleep normally again. Exercise and good diet will help you recover faster. Good luck.

If you get a subsequent script, switch to klonopin at a lower dose.

Gabapentin is an excellent tool to prevent withdrawal. You really have to depend on yourself and willpower however to quit.

Well If I go back to Klonopin, it won’t be at a lower dose, it will be 2mg minimum. But most likely 4mg which I was on before.

if youre taking 2mg a day, try taking half that for a month or two, then half again for another month or so. taper off that trash before you start taking increased amounts. 2mg becomes 4mg, then youre taking 12mg before you know it

Still, I have been prescribed Ritalin since I was 10, but until I got into university, I never actually took it, I just stashed the boxes underneath my bed and told my parents that I took them. When I was young and impressionable, I heard a rumor that Ritalin, since it suppresses appetite would stunt growth, and with my father being a shorter man, I did everything in my power to become as tall as I could. Still, the Ritalin was a godsend during university since the workload was so intense and I had 0 interest in what I was learning.
