Thinking more like me by now. Btw they would never do that and for good reasons (excluding the actual risk of MAD for now) ... they need Europa and they need it "intact". First, as an irreplaceable export market for their resources and second for its high quality manufacturing potential (which due to the deindustrialization during the wild 90's they simply do lack for the most part ... and even if they'd start reendustrialize today this would still take at least a few years). Therefore it makes no sense to increase tensions in Europe now from their perspective, at least not directly. Instead, they need a "second front" with the potential to disrupt as much of global trade as possible and create human suffering of unseen proportions, effectively putting so much pressure on the EUSSR that its elites are ready to make a deal. That is their only strategic outlook and as they are in no way stupid or irrational (the Sven OP completely fails to understand them) this will likely be their mid term strategy.
