President Joe Biden has blamed Russia for another crisis, saying the US might not be able to generate enough electricity to meet consumer demand partly because of Moscow’s military offensive against Ukraine.
The president declared an energy emergency on Monday, saying national security and quality of life are jeopardized by potential shortfalls in power supplies. He invoked the Defense Production Act – originally part of an industrial mobilization effort in response to the Korean War – to spur domestic production of solar panels and other forms of “clean” energy to boost power supplies.
“Multiple factors are threatening the ability of the United States to provide sufficient electricity generation to serve expected customer demand,” Biden said in his emergency declaration. “These factors include disruptions of energy markets caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and extreme weather events exacerbated by climate change.” rt.com/news/556722-biden-declares-energy-emergency/

This this this. My friend works for a nuclear plant and he never stops complaining about how the government keeps trying to stop them at every step of the way. He says nuclear is the energy for a new revolution but the powers that be dont want that cause it'll solve a lot of problems for citizens and make little money for politicians. Literally the only reason it's been made hard on purpose.
I work for a smaller company in with locations in the South, Southwest, and West Coast. What we do is pretty specific, and tangentially related to some windmill maintenance. I’ve worked closely with installs and a little with maintenance, but we’re not a windmill company. I can say with a large amount of confidence that the windmill industry is an absolute scam. The maintenance contracts on these things is hilariously disproportionate to the amount of income they generate. They only exist due to government funding, which would be ok if electrical infrastructure and generation were legitimately nationalized. Instead it’s just private industries milking the government.
