You can't just use any water for the nuclear plant. If you have to pump it in then the loss in efficiency makes it worthless. It has to be built on a source of flowing water, like a tributary or estuary. Pretty much all the best locations have them built already much like pure hydro power

it's the only long term solution we have proven technology, and at a scale it will actually solve all the problems it has, if we some day manage to get fusion working then that should be the obvious pivot to but as long as that isn't available nuclear is the best option
