Same as it always was really. Here's how I view it as someone who has watched this history. Every time serious unrest is in the pressure cooker gun rights and gun shootings go up. In the end, more gun rights are had by all and the shootings quiet down (at least, the media doesn't report on mass shootings like they are on "queue".) but more importantly, the unrest against government goes away for a while. Government is in the business of protecting itself now. That means placating the citizenry. With gunowners *thinking* they kept Fedzilla at bay, they keep their gunz nice and useless in their safes, or the ground or in that "terrible boating accident" that I fucking hate reading about over and over... It aint funny anymore. At any rate. Its about control. And un wners are some of the easiest to control. Damn near none of them are ready to trade it all, everything they have, their precious gunz included to go toe to toe with Uncle Sam. Not going to happen. We will get Constitutional carry. We will also get the go ahead for civil lawsuits against gun manufacturers. Watch, It will be a zero sum game. EVERYONE can carry! IF you can AFFORD a gun!!! mwahahahaaha....

I am glad that the Supreme Court could overturn states like New York requiring a special reason to be able to get a carry permit, but that won't change anything. They'll just make another, differently worded, unconstitutional law and continue life as normal.

What is to stop them from saying you can only carry with ammo that can only shoot 50 feet. No one is saying you can't own a gun. Hell, own 100. BUT, you have to use this (100% ineffective) ammo or you get 10yrs in the clink; while po-po and criminals still use "today's" ammunition. Look at the ATF craziness with supressors. 10 years if they really want to push it if you use something that makes your pew-pew 40 decibels lower. Still LOUD. Go to any range and try one out. You will know a gunshot has been fired in your neighborhood still.
