It's not just BMW, every European car is designed to last exactly 100k miles before they break and need to be put into an endless maintenance loop.

These fucking pieces of shit won't last more than 12 years without constant maintenance. I bought a 2011 Ford Taurus for $5,900 several years ago with only 29,000 miles. The car sat on the lot at half to one third of its price because it was PURPLE. I paid about $250 to put a gray powder coat on it. I also haven't changed the oil in about 6 years and it runs great. The only thing I've changed are the tires since they were almost a decade old and started popping one-by-one recently. Beamers are dogshit.

Steering locked up and I barely made it to the side of the road. Look under the car and oil is pouring out like crazy. Shit got junked. I traded it to the tow company for scrap to cover my towing costs to take it off the highway.

I have a 2005 BMW, and while it has held up well with only 100k miles it certainly won’t last 100 years even if driven as sparsely as I do.

also forgot to add, repairs are crazy expensive in them. a battery replacement is $600 just because a mechanic has to mess with the computer
