Why is there always talk of arming teachers who obviously don't want to as their job is teaching children when plenty of other faculty, janitors, secretaries, yard duties etc would probably be the best fit to be the ones carrying anyway? It would increase wages for the lowest paid in the school system and teachers could focus on teaching, not contemplating shooting one of their class clowns every semester.
And since the cops have been proven multiple times to be worthless as protection for schools, why not even hire private armed security who can't fuck up kid's lives for bullshit like being caught with cigarettes who also won't do shit about a kid with a gun? Probably cheaper too than having a school cop on site.
I agree: private armed security is probably going to be the most effective option. The reason they won’t do it is because of the cost.
Thomas Hall
Seems cheaper to me than a full time cop with a pension and benefits.
Landon Rogers
>hey these people we believe are indoctrinating kids to be communist revolutionaries? let's give them guns anyone saying to arm the teachers is a midwit
Jace Thomas
fire half of every school board they're all administrative bloat and muh DEI eaters anyway. there's your money.
David Price
arm the children. all of them
Easton Ramirez
I've always thought firearms should have some kind of a place in the US school system, like a class or something. It's the Second Amendment after freedom of speech goddammit, yet driver's Ed is something you can take and being able to drive is not constitutionally protected whatsoever. It makes no sense.
Aaron Rodriguez
bring back the shooting range instructors, home ec, woodshop, and metalshop. but they were removed for a reason
Jaxon Davis
everyone should know how to defend themselves and others. it's an indictment of modern society that so few people know their way around a gun or even how to throw a punch.
Jeremiah Clark
Armed security. Secured entrances with metal detectors. It worked in the 80's. It will work now.
Henry Lee
Metal detectors and bag checks are retarded. These people go in ready to start shooting, what's that going to change?
Colton Campbell
Who the FUCK said arm all teachers? Who? Point to them. Show them to me.
Nobody is fucking saying that because it's fucking retarded. What they're saying is LET teachers who want to carry carry. Have then take training. Have a certification program and a basic standard.
Simplest problem in the world and the left can't figure it out because they're seriously that God damn stupid. "How do I keep my children from dying in a fire?" "BAN FIRES"
Kayden Baker
>what's that going to change? >try to "go in ready to shoot" >never make it into the school because you get shot They wont make it through the door? Are you a fucking retard? What part of "secured entrance" did you not get?
Jaxon Evans
You don't understand what I'm saying. If someone is going to shoot up a school they don't walk through a metal detector and say "oops ya got me!". They run in there and start shooting, so yes, armed security, no to fucking metal detectors and random searches like the goddamn TSA. And fuck off with calling someone retarded when you don't even understand reading comprehension you fucking knee jerking faggot.
Joshua Rodriguez
The only solution that will work is going back to a society where people don't do this. Assuming that's even possible, and assuming something crazy like we actually give that a try, there's no way that hundreds more won't die before we get there. It is way, way too late for that.
Unless we do that, start right now and accept what's coming, there's really no point in doing anything about school shootings beyond after-the-fact thoughts and prayers.
You're a fucking moron bro. You can't "get inside the school" if armed security is shooting at you. You think you can get through a security check at the door? You think people aren't going to notice some asshole with a rifle outside the school? You think secured entrance means someone could shoot their way in? You are the blackest most retarded gorilla nigger I have met today, congratz.
Carter Moore
>Why is there always talk of arming teachers Fake. Nobody ever suggested that in good faith.
Ayden Taylor
>abloo blood you're a retard because of my school shooter fantasy
You don't fucking understand what I'm saying. I agree someone should be there to shoot back at a shooter. What I'm also saying is metal detectors and treating students like they're in a prison camp is not the solution. I honestly don't get what point you're trying to make other than just to be combative.
Andrew Green
stop being a retard. they arent trying to force anything on anyone. what people are saying is that if a teacher or anyone who works in a school WANTS to carry a gun for protection, they should be allowed. plenty of teachers are licensed gun carriers who are forced to leave their weapons at home because of gun free zone laws
Kayden Hughes
>The reason they won’t do it is because of the cost. shut up faggot and do the math. with the money we just sent to ukraine last week we could supply every school in the nation with an armed security guard with a salary of $100,000 for 5 years
Camden Smith
Me, we should bolt guns to teachers left hands so they are forced to do their duty and protect our youth
Caleb Nguyen
The problem is public schools are the staff unionized. Most likely teachers, staff and janitors who would like to bring a gun are not allowed to because how unions want everything uniform. School boards are too cheap to hire guards nor are competent enough to come up with good strategies of handling attacks. So basically public schools are a huge soft target and will always be.
One idea that sounds good to me is to have school voucher programs where parents can choose a school and pressure schools on protecting the campus better.
Jeremiah Myers
>What I'm also saying is metal detectors and treating students like they're in a prison camp is not the solution Heard this same stupid argument from every liberal leftist faggot in the media and it is completely wrong. I went to a school in TX that had armed security and metal detectors. It didn't phase me one bit, neither did it have an "affect" on the learning experience. It's a retarded argument. It's like saying, "yea id rather take a chance on being shot than having the slight inconvenience of being safe. Fuck outa here with that bullshit deflection nonsense. IT HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE. Your a fucking retard confirmed.
What you're proposing could also extend into parents electing teachers and superintendents for school districts. Sounds like something the whole original states/cities/counties system the US was originally idealized to be.
Adam Myers
You're a bootlicker, I get it. What you want is no better than a New York City type "utopia".
Mason Ortiz
>having a deterrent won't effect school shootings. No your just wrong. There is no shame in admitting that you are a moron. You're that kind of faggot that deflects the real solution for something completely asinine, then you try to escape behind some bullshit comparison. You either want to solve the problem or you don't. I guess you don't.
Jaxson Peterson
>every time I go to a sporting event, concert, airport, federal building, is a traumatic event. Metal detectors are based and would cut down on niggers being niggers in addition to providing deterrence to school shooters if only through security theater.
No more knives, no more vape pens. Literally what is the downside?
It's a building you can't leave, it's always been a prison. In school I realized that it was a prison.
Fucking retard leftists >I want to live in a world where I don't have to lock my doors Well you don't.
Angel Butler
I think it should be optional and any adult working at a school should be able to. Teacher, janitor, whatever. If people are going to get upset over it because they think the employees will shoot Timmy, make them take a firearm safety class first.
Christopher Diaz
Here's your (You). Reevaluate yourself.
Kevin Parker
The free market will correct itself if you remove regulation. Every kid will bring a gun to school if it's allowed. You would never see a mass shooter again.
Dominic Sullivan
>Reevaluate yourself. I don't have to, I lived that experience and I know it works, so do the crime statistics of the state of TX. Unlike your dumb opinion.
