My Mom had me diagnosed with Tourettes syndrome as a little kid, despite me not having it. She just took me to doctor after doctor until she got what she wanted. She then put me on something called a "504", which prevented the teachers from punishing me under any circumstance. So effectively I didn't learn how to behave from normal activities, and this reinforced her belief that I had a serious problem. She kept justifying it by saying "They never would have let you go to school without this." and even used it as a way of justifying me not going to groups like boyscouts, because they wouldn't let someone like me in. Eventually my inability to socialize prevented me from having friends, and then she diagnosed me with Aspbergers syndrome as a result. It took a long and hard struggle to come out of that pain and depression, and she tried to fight me every step along the way. I don't speak to her. She'll never know my kids. She rots alone in her home.
