I believe in the Second Amendment, I just don't think anyone needs a rifle like that in private possession. Maybe a public armory managed by an elected sheriff, where people can train with them and shoot with them is a better idea. In the event of a tyrannical government, the sheriff can deputize people and dispense the rifles when needed.
You don't need more than a shotgun for home defense, and nobody should be carrying a pistol in public. It's just not necessary.
