Iraq was much more dangerous. and giving Iran influence was a necessity to grant its support or at least neutral position from the invasion of iraq. During the 1991 war Iraq fired 49 ballistic rockets at Israel for no damn reason but propaganda purposes. during the last 2 years Israel assassinated 5 high ranking Iranian officials with no single serious response from Iran.
