its litterraly standard practice to conceal, obfuscate, confuse the story when you cannot control the all the information (witnesses that were not supposed to witness certain things, pesky reporters and online info gatherers that get information that was not supposed to be available, and whistleblowers). Deny, release certain facts, then deny those facts, then agree to those facts, then release other facts that contradict the first facts and repeat. The public quickly gets frustrated and loses interest and moves on. If that tactict is not working then there is another shooting somewhere else - just by chance.

do you think you will ever get a honest, accurate answer? The door was close. The door was open. The door was closed but not locked. The door was propped open by a teacher and the shooter entered the propped open door. The door was propped open but a teacher removed the prop and closed the door, but the door did not lock. Funny how the police are investigating and making statements that seem to be clearly wrong, inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, contradictory, yet the public is supposed to have confidence they are doing an honest, professional investigation.
The school cop had a gun fight with the shooter, bu the shooter got in anyway. The school cop did not have gun fight but saw the shooter. The school cop was in his car in the parking lot. No, the school cop was not even at the school. Same type of bullshit for every thing that will actually matter.

It's quantum mechanics: the door is open and closed at the same time. The door is locked and unlocked at the same time. It depends on who looks at the door which collapses the door's wave function to decide if the door is open or closed, locked or unlocked. Maybe the shooting simply walked through the door that was in a superposition and halfway open and halfway locked. The police will get to the bottom of it though.
