Shootings are a symptom. The disease is the erosion of the value of human and labor purpose through technological advancement and lately automation.

America has sort of topped out in terms of technological growth and innovation.
Advances in technology aren't really in demand anymore, other than to fulfill human vanity and attention-seeking.
I'm not an Uncle Ted disciple; I think this occurred some time in the 90's. You sleep at 72F, your food stays refrigerated, and you can travel anywhere in the world within a day.
All computation, data crunching, and algorithmic determination have done is expose humans to perfectly efficient and brutal market forces that make the prices of essential goods and services like food, housing, etc completely non-negotiable and escalating constantly with inflation.
Couple that with the fact that there are an extremely limited number of modern professional roles in which a person can make a worthwhile contribution to society, and it just leaves the majority of people, even in the Western world, feeling completely purposeless.

And as I'm sure you're all aware, there is nothing more dangerous in this world than a man stripped of purpose.

M2 isn't a very good indicator of overall money supply, as it just consists of cash, demand deposits, and a couple other asset classes.
If there are $50 in the modern economy, $47 of those dollars are credit money, and only 3 are actual paper cash.

A much better metric is a blend of total credit facility indicators, consumer credit card debt, interbank lending, repo and reverse repo.
All of these are at astronomical all-time highs btw.

Well you're 100% right, but what we're seeing isnt only caused by the degradation of purpose and fulfillment. It's the F.A.G.S. that are actively seeking out, isolating, arming, and planning these events for their own malicious (and homosexual) ends.

It's either a peaceful multi-faceted one, or it's just widespread violence and death.
In order for the majority of people to retain some sort of working purpose in their lives, the main thing is that you would have to outlaw algorithmic price determination and the automation of manufacturing/physical work/basic quantitative tasks, which would be an incredibly difficult thing to do.
Laws that go against market forces don't usually work very well; capital is always smarter than government, and finds ways around them. It's not stated in the movie, but it's part of the plot of Dune. You'll notice there are zero computer screens in the film; a massive war between humans and AI/tech was necessary before that world could be built and maintained.
The other thing that would be pretty much inevitable to achieve this would be a more authoritarian form of government, which given the state of things would make the West's current problems much more severe.

I'll close by saying I'm not optimistic. The most obvious answer is that technological change has rendered a solid majority of the world's population economically useless, this will only get worse, and they will likely be a drain/burden on the rest of the world for as long as they exist.

Again, just a symptom.
Where the opportunity for unpunished corruption exists, someone will always attempt to fill it. The fix is eliminating the opening.
If Feds were attempting to young men in to shooting up a school or bombing, but most of those young men had stable employment and a girlfriend that sucked their dick, it would be impossible.
