Obviously there is. We all came from some basal mammal too, but that doesn't mean we're the same as hamsters. Moreover, we didn't come from all of Africa, just a small part of it roughly around Uganda from which our ancestors colonized the rest of the globe. There are cave paintings and carvings in Europe older than homo sapiens were supposed to exist. I don't think Africa is ground zero, unless you are talking about when all the continents were merged. Side note: Africa was primarily made up of Indians(asiatics) up until recently. The modern theory is actually that after the first exit, those that headed toward Europe returned toward Africa and then from there expanded mutippe directions and became humanity as we know it today.
Out of Africa is actually a misconception, in reality we all left from Africa at least once.
Which is really interesting as if you consider the major action that led to homo sapiens being smarter and ultimately better than all other hominids was leaving Africa.
