Trooping The Colour starts Platinum Jubilee celebrations >Celebrations are under way to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee - an unprecedented event in British history. Queen Elizabeth II, 96, who came to the throne 70 years ago, is Britain's longest ever reigning monarch. Four days of celebrations are kicking off with Trooping the Colour, the military parade that marks the Queen's official birthday. Prince Charles will take the salute from officers and guardsmen in his mother's place. The Queen will appear with other members of the Royal Family on Buckingham Palace's balcony at 13:00 as RAF jets fly overheard.

Fighting is raging in the key city of Severodonetsk, which is now largely under the control of Russian troops. Taking Severodonetsk would mean Russia controls almost all of Luhansk, in the eastern Donbas region.
