Tiny homes are great as some vacation cottages in the nature, not in the city, or "in the hood".

I have a very small home, 720 SF, own it on 1/5 acre of land downtown in a west coast city.
Built in 1951, I did windows, electrical, roof and copper plumbing....insulated too.
Plenty of room inside for me and my dog, perfect in fact.
Tiny is only a problem when there are kids.

in the united states it is too much to ask. the only housing that is even remotely within my means (i work full time and am paid almost double the federal minimum wage) is renting a room in some boomer's house. i did that in california for about two years. one day they randomly said "oh im remodeling you have to leave in 30 days." life is not easy here

I volunteered for over a year, full time building houses for the homeless a decade ago. I drive by there about once a week now and almost every window is broken or boarded up, the siding has been ripped off about half the houses, the AC condensers have been stolen, and I heard all the appliances got ripped out. Pretty sure one or more is a drug den. From what I hear from other volunteers from the same program it’s par for the course.

My friend showed interest in them, and said our group of friends should do pic related, I don’t think he realizes that it’s doubtful these have any real plumbing or where the fuck land would you put them.

It’s probably less than $3000. You can get logs from a fucking logger and build a mansion for $20,000. Don’t be a fag and live in a cuckshed. Buy some land when the market crashes and build yourself a log house.

I mean there's something to be said for a house that could actually stop a bullet from going through the 3 layers of particle board they call a house. I can't imagine how much it'd cost to build a home like that now. I just don't got that kind of money yet.

It's hard as fuck here, too. My salary is above average but I still can't afford to buy more than a small studio apartment (read: ze pod) if I am single, but I'm looking at other cities and small towns now, fuck le hustle and bustle of city life.
