This implies that the FBI is on the defensive, and is afraid of its people being investigated/prosecuted. It isn't. Because the FBI and everyone else in DC knows that the fix is in.
Your problem is that you began with your conclusion ('surely somehow justice will be done!!!') and have to use increasingly convoluted reasoning to support this conclusion. That's not the way to look at political issues. You should start with a blank slate, and let the actual evidence guide your conclusions. In this case, it's rigged, and 'the swamp' has won.
