Suicide is selected into existence in mammals by the environment because killing yourself when you are of negative value to everyone around you is actually the best way to increase the overall fitness score of your genetics over time.
Basically suicide is just evolution figuring out by trial and error that "removing a negative" is the same as "adding a positive".

Cringe in modern day execution. Trying to end emotional suffering and half assing it because you fear physical pain is disgusting. Nothing short of horrific bodily disfigurement and cognitive decline making you a burden justify most cases. To retain honor and express absolute commitment and refusal to live by the oppressive conditions of a political victor is most based. Petty over dose attempts for attention should be dismissed and refused treatment to punish histrionic behavior. Killing yourself "at" someone in revenge should be openly mocked and laughed at
