Tell me more

1992 fag here. We grew up been taught how to use computers. I remember having the old yellow/white block computers. I remember when our school upgraded to flat screen monitors in the new windows system somewhere back in the early 00's and when the smart board was been introduced to schools.

These days zoomers are been taught about gender equality and diversity shit.
Is there any doubt that they turned out to be worse than us?

Because phones aren't computers.

Mass market interfaces put an intuitive layer between the user and the actual functioning of the machine, earlier generations had clunkier interfaces that better resembled the internal process

Why wouldn't they be? Modern computers are easier to use, and harder to get to the background stuff. It doesn't help that my school was teaching me computer shit and basic programming in 3rd grade in like 1997.

The collapse is upon us

Damn I can't believe the lunch room staff would make a joke to encourage healthy eating among children the collapse is here

fpbp

BASIC shouldn't have been taught past the 80s. Pascal, C, even Modula-2 or Fortran were much better options to learn at the time.

I think user meant simple programs.

>Gen X can't into computers
Kill yourself.

The issue about the ever expanding education on computers and IT is that every 3-6 months something new changes and especially beyond the year 2000 IT education changes, old information you had to study becomes irrelevant and new information comes in.
I did an IT course years back and on day 1 the teacher told me the most recent $100 textbook on IT was more useless cause it cut out relevant information that was needed to proceed through the course and told us to get a refund the 10th edition and buy the 9th.

>muh mobile OS

This is a weird phenomenon as you naturally think the younger the more they know it’s quite weird.

They're not even promoting healthy eating. They're forcing students to accept, and subsequently throw away, food they were never going to eat so the school can receive block grants from the federal government. We're paying schools to hire employees that heat up food meant for the landfill. If the "food" didn't come from a can, and parents wanted more for their children than basic goyslop sustenance, it would be okay.

I used to build my computers old school style with jumpers and shit. Had to use DOS. Used C64 and shit. All the archaic syntax.

I was kinda amazed how zoomers seem semi illiterate with computers.

They're worse at it because devices these days are so plug and play, back in the day you had to do more shit manually and know your way around your PC a little better if you wanted certain shit done yourself.

oh yeah, remember to sage off-topic threads

They don't learn how to use computers and phones are basically toys.

iPhone are so user friendly that they teach you nothing about computing. Computers in the 90's required you to understand how they actually worked to some degree. Most zoomers can't even navigate the dumbed down windows 10 file explorer
