dude I lived in Portland for 3 months it was only beautiful outside the cities. The homelessness was out of control. Trash everywhere and crazy addicts shouting in the streets
Because down town (the pic you posted) is a tiny island, so they have nowhere to build but up.
Also, they have bylaws where all the glass buildings there have to be that greenish color, whereas in calgary () they build whatever color they want.

Downtown Bellevue is peak comfy. I don't mind all the Asians. You can walk around and they mind their own business. Issaquah sucks. It's just sprawl, there's no proper downtown. It's not big enough to have anything to do and it's not small enough to have any charm.
