The problem is fentanyl. You never saw levels like this of ODs and slumped over zombies back when heroin was just heroin. I used to be an addict using IV heroin. I started with sniffing the purest stuff you can get in the world that came straight to me from the Golden Triangle. That shit was super strong & yet the withdrawals from that don’t even come close to those of fent or its many analogues. I had to get off because everything you get these days has F in it.
It would be easy to just blame China since they are the leading producer by far (upwards of 90%) & shipper of Fent, but there has to be a demand for them to even have somewhere to send it to. Cartels are sourcing it. Random niggers are sourcing it.
The shit is so strong that your chances are so low of getting out of the addiction. I’m still reaping what I’ve sown, but I can never go back to that shit.

Ten years ago I had a job doing utility work on that same corner.
Best highlight was some junkie rolled a bowling ball from that corner, across Kensington Avenue,catty corner. Some junkie on the other side tried to kick it and collapsed with a broken foot.
1) Whatever they gave him for the pain would never work, and he probably took the whole bottle at once.
2) As the week went on, his aluminum crutches disappeared (probably sold them off for scrap).
3) the bandage and cast got absolutely filthy.
4) He disappeared by the end of the week, OD’d on something heavy. Never heard of again. This was pre-Narcan .
