russia is set to lose over half of its national income. china and india might end up "helping" russia only by swapping other exporters they're primarily importing from right now and even then, realistically, not all the way. china and india would also do this slowly, over the course of many years, not to break contracts and to be a good and predictable customer. china and india would want this because they'd want to have good relations with every oil exporter (arabs, iran, russia etc.) to form a buyer's cartel for russia while not allowing russia to monopolize their oil markets, in short to have (and utilize) leverage. the end result is an increased volume in the china-india direction but not nearly as much as russia would want, and price of their oil dropping due to dropping demand for russian oil worldwide and china and india forming a monopsony. so >insufficiently increased volume in the china-India direction >a significant and perpetual discount Furthermore, there is a possibility that the EU+AUKUS seizes the tanker industry thanks to superior buying power, leaving nothing for Russia except their own meager fleet of tankers that they can't expand

Fun fact, Russian oil import is actually going down -90%, not 2/3. That remaining 1/3 is pipeline oil but Germany and Poland have already confirmed that they are not going to use the Druzhba pipeline for their oil needs (this is the pipeline that got the exemption)
So it's just Hungary, Czechia and Slovakia remaining, obligated to get rid of that oil sometime in the future

EU can get rid of Rusky oil because the oil market is a lot bigger and diversified compared to the gas one.
With gas it's more complicated to ship it remotely. But oil can be done, lots of suppliers, bigger market, plenty of sellers, and can be transported over large distances and unloaded and processed without much fuss, if it fits the refinery installations you have.
