Christianity used to be all these things. Until theocracy replacement was put into place, theyll do the same thing to Islam, in fact if you look at the relationship Saudi Arabia has with Israel. Every civilization that Islam took hold of went down in flames no more than 100 years after. The so-called Islamic golden age was primarily perpetuated by people later on considered apostates or people who weren't Islamic at all.
The problem is the same as Protestantism, really, just more virulent; It's designed to fracture into competing purity-spiraling sects every 20 years and take all the surrounding cultural matter with it.
