These stories are flooding the news now. Tons of people getting arrested for edgy jokes, some of them so benign that to actually charge would be a civil rights violation on 1st amendment grounds. Unfortunately instead of going to trial and then taking the state to federal court later, most will probably take a plea and have their lives ruined.

Apparently the police chief who green lighted this entire operation to arrest this kid has been accused of drug use and previously being fired from another police department for unspecified reasons (they didn't keep records and the asshole of course hired and attourney).
Makes you wonder who put this mexican in charge. Or at least I assume he's in charge because he keep doing interviews and talking about "his team"

Here's another story. I think this one is a clear violation of the guys rights. His message was "siri where is the nearest school" protected speech. His picture the message was attached to was holding a firearm, protected activity under 2nd and 1st amendment. Putting the two together may justify an investigation, but it doesn't justify an arrest and criminal charges. But he's a poor fag so probably gonna plead, instead of lawyer up and win a civilsuit later.
