How come the world didn`t come together and impose sanctions and pressure on America when they attacked and invaded Vietnam?

No social media. The 2003 war in Iraq saw massive protests, and even vassals of the US like France and Germany tried to rebel for a while but social media was in its infancy. I imagine that if the US tried another invasion like Iraq in today's social media world it would cause massive internal and external chaos.

Because the world was In fear of communism at the time.

Ofc it is possible, and could be justified in popular opinion. Imagine Russia winning in Ukraine, putting some puppet dictator that does dirty shit there (some genocide similar to what Saddam did). Now USA decides to enter Ukraine. Ofc it is supported.
