You must truely believe in yourself. Confidence is what you need to be reliant. Now, building confidence takes time. If you understand what commitment is, then good. If you don't, then nothing will help you. For you must commit to being that which you aspire to become. Commitment so a particular thing will breed confidence in your ability to perform whatever action you do.
Responsibility is needed all across the board. When something happens, own up to it. If you want to be self reliant, then responsibility is one of the most important aspects. Being responsible with money will help you on the path to becoming good with saving for more expensive luxuries, feeding yourself better food, and even providing for your family if you have one.
Duty is very important as well. Having a sense of duty allows you to remain committed to a project or task that you have set for yourself or that another has set for you. (Like a job) and shall allow you greater willpower to see things through to the end.
Becoming a self-reliant man is one of the most aspired pathways in life that is sought after. Remember what that user and I said and you shall eventually become self reliant.
