I've seen glimpses of it and I'm not impressed. US government is in a sad state of affairs, cost overruns everywhere and nothing to really show for it.

There are huge problems with rail-guns for example, every shot fired wears out the barrel immensely, and you don't really gain much...a projectile that's very fast, and there's some other nice side effects, but ultimately nothing worth pouring billions into it.
