I think it's just the stats aren't really on the side of the gun people. Gun use for self defense in the home is something like 0.1% of all cases and gun homicides are almost 50k/year. It's hard to know for sure how much guns are used defensivelyin total, the fbi gives small numbers like a few hundred and the gun associations say it's like millions of people are doing it. Gun companies need guns to make money though and highly likely pay the gun associations to say whatever they want

Firearm suicides are logged as "homicides" you kike, so the number is inflated as all Hell. But even ignoring that, you're deliberately trying to use two completely different measurements in total percentages and total cases. Just to hold you accountable, according to Pew there are around 100 million people who live with a gun. In other words, assuming that homicides were conducted 1-1 between victim to shooter (it isn't in either ratio, but changing the numbers doesn't help you in any direction), and that your numbers aren't bullshit the number of killers in the US is around 1/2000, or .05% of all gun owners. In other words, 99.95% of gun owners are responsible people, and are 20 times more likely to use their weapons in self-defense by your own numbers.

No what that shows is the vast majority of gun owners never use their guns at all so there's pretty much no point in having them, but having it as easy to get them as it is now means it's also easy for the wrong people to get them. The other thing is guns are banned here where I am but I can still get a gun legally, it's just harder but basically everyone can still get one, the whole point is to track them and make it difficult as a deterrent. Some kid who wants to shoot up a school or some crazy ghetto nigger probably won't want to go to mandatory shooting range visits and sit through training classes and get the licence and buy a gun safe etc, and if they do go through all of that it gives them a long time to reconsider before they actually get the gun
