There are a lot of videos on YouTube of people taking trains and other public transit systems in Japan. It's easy to see why it works there, in a culturally unified nation, but can never work here. The videos are pretty comfy and usually include the process of buying tickets, eating on the train, restroom facilities, and general ambiance. Simply not doable in a diverse multicultural hellhole.
