I believe whatever Zelensky is talking is not supposed to be message to Putin or Russia at all. It's just internal propaganda for ukranians to keep moral up so that they don't revolt. From what I heard he tries to get rid of any possible oppossition at the moment and tightly controls media.
If you see hohols bragging about some numbers of the Russian loses, just apply that number to the Ukrainian loses and you'll get the real picture of the situation :) It works like a charm!
