regardless what your political position is, isn't this common sense? they can pull $40b out of their ass to fund a foreign state but can't spend $40b for safer schools, places of worship, major transportation areas?

You aren't The Leader of the Free World, you wouldn't undestand. America can't help its citizens because it has to help everyone else out first. Also, the fact that we are 3rd world in many respects despite our wealth is solely due to capitalism and racism and other intangible stuff that can never be changed.

But, of course, over 70% of Americans support hand gun ownership, while "assault rifle" conjures up mental images of Taliban fighters holding AK-47s in suburban moms' heads, so guess which one the Democrats take more issue with? If it was more about "saving lives" than politics, they'd be more on handguns, but nope, nary a word about them from Democrats at the federal level.
Tell congress to pass the "Safe Students Act," H.R. 7415. It could have prevented the sad tragedy in which many innocent souls tragically died.
