The Antichrist is likely Isreal. Read the description, it fits. Most Christians are deceived. They believe modern “Jews” are the ancient Judeans. They are not. They were warned “beware of those who call themselves Judeans but are not. They are the synagogue of Satan.” The word “jew” did not exist during the time of Christ. The right word is Judean. People of Judah. The remnant of Isreal, a people, not a geographical location. Isreal always WAS a people, NOT a place. Modern Isreal is the church, meaning, the people of God who believe in Christ as Messiah. Isreal, the geographical location, PRETENDS they are still the “chosen ones”. That’s fine and dandy and all, but Revelation has to be one of the most abused texts in history. Perhaps I am guilty of the same. However, if you read the Bible, not just merely commentary, you’d understand it has layers. The surface layer is addressed to those immediately present or to whom it was immediately relevant (see warnings to Isreal of exile in the absence of repentance). But another layer is that these same warnings, of exile (from Gods kingdom) in the absence of repentance, applies to all of Gods people throughout time. Ancient Isreal was worshipping idols, actual carvings of various gods. But that still applies to us today. Our idols take the shape of many things, like money, power, etc. Yet another layer is that Isreal itself is a type and shadow of Christ. The messiah to come, in the OT. So, the antichrist isn’t necessarily one man. In the OT, Isreal is often referred to as “she”. It’s not uncommon in biblical language for a nation to be referred to in personal gendered pronouns. Moreover, there are many antichrists. Anyone against Christ, who either doesn’t believe in Him or believes but blasphemes, is antichrist. Again, there are layers here. But I do think that modern Isreal is a contender for THE antichrist, the final boss.
