Technological progress is central to politics

Decades of slowing down, completely stagnated 10 years ago and everything got that much crazier
Other than miniaturization, the fantasy technologies from 50 years ago remain vaporware fantasies
The last period of really hot technological progress was WW2 and its continuation in Operation Paperclip
Sci Fi of the 1960s was too optimistic relative to our current year (2001, Star Trek, etc)
No definite progress in our theories of fundamental physics has been made since the 1970s
Nanotechnology? Extending lifespans and curing diseases? Cheap and plentiful electric power?
The tools that scientists have now (e.g. computers) are an incredible upgrade compared to the tools people had back when they were making more progress
The reason technology is crucial to politics is that our economy is a pyramid scheme that expects endless exponential growth
Possible explanations for technological stagnation include:
1) All the easy discoveries have already been made, there's nothing left.
2) The only reason we kept up with Sci Fi in the early 20th century was secret contact with advanced Aliens
3) Major advances are kept in secret from the majority of Earth's population who are enslaved
4) Geniuses are being nullified by our miseducation system and economic pressure to myopically specialize
5) Jews took over mathematics (Cantor's set theory) and theoretical physics (Einstein's geometry) with elegant word salads that ultimately led to dead ends
pol is overdosed on problems and underdosed on solutions. Don't just give me "But Ted!", because making real technological progress was a Ted type 2 goal for a long time, not just a surrogate activity.

unless there is a radical change in course the next thousand years will be a dark age of decline until we settle in at about 1600 levels of tech and development.
disgenics is the rule today.

its 3 thats why they're prepping us for project bluebeam

Intellectual property is the problem.

It must be ended.

I may have the power to do it. But will I have the luck?

Stay tuned

Only US dominance matters. It was only ever good (and offered more variety) when it was just that. Maybe the UK too.

IP is what made American tech great. Stop listening to fat Jews.

We're in a FinTech revolution, and have been for years now. It's a different type of technological revolution.

Bump

>All the easy discoveries have already been made, there's nothing left.
It's this. Advances in physics require teams of thousands of people and millions or billions of dollars worth of equipment. The days of "thought experiments" and working out a few cheeky calculations by candlelight are over because we've reached the point where nice, normal human abstractions, including mathematics or models like "electrons are balls that zoom around an atom," just can't easily describe whatever the fuck is going on in our universe; it's not that light is a particle and a wave, for example, it's something else entirely we just don't have a word or concept for and the best we can do is "particle and a wave, kinda". It's only going to get harder from here as we still don't even have ideas on how to validate some hypotheses; they require information we can't probe or tools that do not exist.

Good point, IP and lawyers have been a disaster for the human race
Then we need to know who they are and where they are. Clearly the publicly known elites are not benefiting from advanced medical technology
Networking humans together in new ways is social technology, like language or alphabets. Significant but totally different from progress in hard sciences and engineering.

...bump, but whatabout nanotechnology, biocomputing?

It could be, but here have been many periods of stagnation or technological plateaus before. Electricity, heat, gravity, planets, etc once seemed as mysterious as quantum mechanics may seem today
I was a physics professor involved in quantum information research, it seems to me that scientists today are exceedingly myopic and pressured into narrow tracks and more focused on demonstrating their own pseudo-productivity than discovering truly new phenomena

What about them? They've been in the hype / research stage for 40 years and haven't delivered anything impactful yet to our lives

Jews rely on IP for their control. All of hollywood, the music industry etc wouldn't be profitable without IP. By the spirit of the law, humming a song in your head should be an offense, we just lack the means to enforce it currently, but so long as the spirit of the law is respected, this is the future we will be striving for. It is inherently authoritarian. If you cannot monetize your activities without violating the liberties of others (to own an idea means to own the minds of anyone capable of independently coming up with it), then your activities do not deserve to be profitable. My piss jug business currently isn't profitable, does that mean everyone should be forced to buy my piss jugs?

Is time, energy?

The next big tech will come from Russia.

>m Russia.
They are busy killing off their future (young men) in a desperate battle to cling to an idea instead of a reality.
Russia is finished as a world power.

maybe BUT why do u think that ?

IP haters are either niggers or chinks

>the worlds going to shit because all the easy development of these computer chips humanity hasn't needed for tens of thousands of years is already done

Come on dude get a grip on reality and stop living in fear of a nameless existential dread.
Even if a full nuclear war happened humans would live through it and come back. There's 8 billion of us. Eight billion.

A little bit of 3,4,5. Regarding computers specifically, progress has slowed on hardware a little, but the main problem is now that software gets shittier faster than the hardware gets better.

Is 'tech progress' in a plataeu of the business product lifecycle, perhaps, and investors need to extract as much profit from the 'advances' that have been made lately?

It's partially this.
For fundamental physics the low hanging fruits have all been picked, but there are still important contributions from individual genius types happening in condensed matter, materials science etc that don't require massive (at least not on the scale of something like CERN) budgets to verify experimentally.

>it's not that light is a particle and a wave, for example, it's something else entirely we just don't have a word or concept for and the best we can do is "particle and a wave, kinda"
There are some things we can do to get a handle on it. Topological solitons are a kind of wave-particle or field-particle duality, and there are many concrete/intuitive examples of it that don't even require quantum mechanics such as liquid crystal defects. The wave-duality exhibited by fundamental fields/particles is of a more complex nature, and might not even be topological in origin, so these analogies can only take us so far, but it's still something we have now that wasn't available or well known to physicists when quantum mechanics was originally being developed that can help us get a handle on it.

you fail to mention why we need progress to begin with. this is an assumption in your argument. the sci fi shit and endless tech progress was a pipe dream to begin with. it was all made possible by cheap and plentiful oil anyways, and that era is over. there is an end to philosophic materialism buddy. that's a fact and there ain't nothin wrong with it. better buy a horse.

Everything but 1 and 2, plus many advances aren't even kept a secret.

I never said this would cause us to go extinct. But for 100s of years, the benefits of technological progress for all have been an important part of the social bargain
Immigration, for example, is pushed in part as a way to prop up the economic pyramid scheme

Detect and kill (((you))), cut the oil gibs to your cousins, try to make work more tolerable, avoid constant crisis and faggotry from your mafia, ... a continuation of what was achieved after your clique of negroes lost some power. That's the reason this has been the line of shilling since this psyop began in 2016.

Also constant sabotage in discreet ways, which is usual from psychopaths.

A huge part of it is that "tech" in the west is largely just a shorthand for "targeted advertising technology" rather than for technology in general. 50 years ago, if you said "tech" people would think of the kinds of the kinds of things that Japan is are now known for, but that the west was also ahead of the curve on:
>Robotics
>Electronics
>Machinery
>Etc
Now when people say "tech", the mental image is basically just software, and in particular services provided in exchange for data collection
>Google
>Facebook
>Instagram
>etc
It's not so much that technological process has slowed down over the past 50 or so years, it's that we have redefined the meaning of technology to mean something that wouldn't have been understood as technology back then, and this has deluded us into thinking we still have what would've been understood as a tech industry be people from that time. What has actually happened is that we no longer have a tech industry in substance, we just have an advertising industry that markets itself as a tech industry (which they are naturally good at, given that marketing is their job).

I hate the word tech. Consumer goods are not technology
