2. It doesn't involve paying a bribe to half the country as punishment for being more successful than them

3. No Felonies, Violent Misdemeanors, drug use, etc. The only thing that doesn't require a background check is a Private Sale, I.E between two friends.

Here's the thing though: The biggest piece of gun contro they are trying to push right now is "expanded background checks" meaning that sales between two friends would require one. This would now have stopped a single mass shooter- They have either all passed a background check (Uvalde) or simply stole the firearm (Sandy Hook). So it wouldn't do a fucking thing. It's just more regulation because they hate you. They aren't actually trying to stop mass shootings by expanding background checks.

One problem with mandating background checks like that is that it would require the ATF to "open" the NICS system for public use- The NICS system right now is taxed to the point of breaking due to the ATF being fucking retarded and there being so many gun sales that it can't keep up. If they opened the NICS system to everyone who wanted a check for whatever reason it would snap in half.

They would have to come up with a new system (expensive) or they would have to expand the NICS system (expensive) which would happen through a large spending bill. I don't have to tell you how hard one of those is to get passed and signed, so it is effectively impossible.

Look friend, there are more than half a billion guns in the US. Civilians in the US acount for right around 75% of the guns on the entire planet. There are more AR-15 rifles in the US than people in any single European country.

By supreme court precident, if guns were banned, the existing weapons would be grandfathered in- meaning whoever has them already gets to keep them, but no new weapons are made.

If that happened, there would be AR-15 and AK rifles easily accessable for the next 200 years in this country.

Combine these facts with the recent discovery that police are cowards, (Uvolde) and that they legally have no duty to protect you, it's no stretch that keeping yourself armed if the best way to keep yourself safe in the US. I'm speaking about the US though, as I cannot speak for the situation in other countries.
